Hatteras 50th Anniversary
Hatteras 64 Motor Yacht

Creating the perfect luxury cruiser is no simple task, so we encouraged extensive customer input when developing our Hatteras 64 Motor Yacht. The result is a well-mannered model with a fresh accommodation plan (including a pilothouse with lower helm, galley, and dinette) and intuitive touches throughout (like an electric range with touch dials instead of knobs). Here, our innovative convex hull shape, which earned its stripes on our hard-charging sportfishing boats, allows for more interior space forward and provides a softer ride in rough water. In addition, propeller tunnels give this 116,700-pound, ocean-going cruiser a remarkable 4'8" draft even with the heaviest engines available. Our 64 Motor Yacht takes inspiration and ingenuity to a grand scale. See how she can do the same with your cruising dreams at an authorized Hatteras dealer.

Balance is an important attribute for a boat, and the Hatteras 64 Motor Yacht is another fine example of our ability to balance design, engineering, and the maximum use of space with the latest in construction techniques.

Convex Hull Shape. The 64’s hull shape features a “warped” bottom with a sharp entry forward and highly variable deadrise that becomes nearly flat at the transom. The convexity of the bow lessens wave impact and results in an incredibly smooth ride in head seas. Flatter sections aft reduce water resistance, improving handling at low speeds and increasing stability while planing. Specially designed strakes that bisect the stagnation line (the point at which the water’s surface meets the hull bottom once on plane) provide additional lift and improve tracking in all conditions. Double chines and a flared bow deflect spray out and away from the boat. There’s simply no better ride in the industry.

Deep Propeller Pockets. Our hull tunnels, including those on the 64, are deeper than most, which reduces drag and allows for larger propellers to be tucked in tighter to the hull. That tight fit provides uniform containment around the blades and eliminates the slapping of water against the hull that typically comes with a flat bottom. It also helps accelerate the water through the blades for better performance and results in a shallower draft. The 64, in fact, draws an enviable 4’8”.

Accommodating Aft Deck. The 106-square-foot aft deck adjoins the “sport deck” swim platform and features fiberglass seating, a solid-surface table, overhead lighting, and stereo speakers for easy listening. Convenient for the owner-operator or crew, a fiberglass stairwell provides a quick leg up to the bridge. Gas-assisted cylinders lift the stairwell for access to the engine room, which includes a lazarette for storage of larger items.

Expansive Flybridge. This is what people mean by wide-open spaces. Our 64 Motor Yacht’s 289-square-foot flybridge can be reached via a fiberglass stairwell from the aft deck or via a stainless-steel stairwell from the pilothouse. Standards include twin helm seats, an L-shaped lounge with storage underneath, and a dry bar with refrigerator. For extra cruising convenience, the aft overhang also features a rotational davit along with room for up to a 14-foot tender.

Smart, modular design allows the owner to add a built-in electric grill or additional seating on the flybridge. Learn more at a Hatteras dealer or by requesting a full brochure.

Interior Details

A wide, 18’3” beam that is carried well forward by our convex hull shape creates a generous three-stateroom, three-head layout in the 64 Motor Yacht. And every square inch of it is pure Hatteras.

Spacious Salon. The 190-square-foot, full-beam salon opens directly to the aft deck, imparting the feel of an alfresco extension. Inside, genuine black cherry wood veneers can be finished in satin or high gloss to complement the yacht’s designer fabrics and decorative overhead. Large windows create an expansive view, while blinds recessed into pockets provide privacy when desired. Comfortable seating comes in the form of twin club chairs and a custom lounge with storage beneath. Between the club chairs is a cabinet for convenient bottle and glass storage, or it can host an optional pop-up TV. A wall-mounted, 37-inch flat-screen unit is standard.

Unsurpassed Pilothouse. Just three steps up from the salon, a 146-square-foot pilothouse combines the galley, dining area, and lower helm in a truly picturesque setting. The fully equipped galley features an under-counter Sub-Zero® refrigerator and freezer with icemaker, a microwave/convection oven, a four-burner ceramic cook top, a stainless-steel sink with garbage disposal, solid-surface countertops and backsplashes, and Amtico® vinyl-strip flooring. Best of all, because it overlooks the salon, the chef can still socialize while preparing food. Across from the galley, a raised dinette with storage drawers beneath provides great views as well as easy conversation with the adjacent lower helm, which has standard single-lever controls, a GPS/chartplotter, autopilot, VHF radio, and depth/speed gauge. To starboard, a pantograph door accesses to the 10-inch side decks.

Full-Beam Master. Located amidships for added stability and sporting 6’9” headroom and oval portlights, the full-beam master is a big, bright owner’s sanctuary. Twin nightstands, dressers, and wardrobes mirror each side of the king-size berth, which features cedar-lined storage underneath. Dual hanging lockers add to the tremendous storage. A 20-inch flat-screen TV is standard, along with a stereo and CD/DVD player, for winding down after hours. The private master head features a tub, custom cabinetry, and mirrored fascias.

Guest Staterooms. The VIP stateroom forward features a queen berth with cedar-lined storage beneath, while the spacious guest stateroom to port has side-by-side twins. For those who require a fourth stateroom, a slightly reconfigured master suite allows for upper/lower berths. The two guest heads are equipped with air-conditioning, full mirrors, wood cabinets, solid-surface countertops and backsplashes, Amtico® vinyl-strip flooring, wood baseboards, and designer fixtures.
